About Us
St. Fidelis Province North India is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical territory that serves the Catholic community in the northern regions of India, comprised of seven states, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. It is established to promote the spiritual, educational, and social development of its members and others in need, the province is named in honor of St. Fidelis, a Capuchin friar known for his missionary zeal and martyrdom.
The province encompasses a network of parishes, schools, hostel facilities in the rural area, and charitable organizations dedicated to serving the local population. It focuses on pastoral care, education in general, and community outreach, aiming to foster humanitarian outreach and address the socio-economic needs of the region.
The province is managed by the Capuchin Friars, who are part of the larger Capuchin Franciscan Order and known for their commitment to chastity, poverty, obedience, simplicity, and service. Following the Constitution of the Order, the Office bearers are elected for three years to animate the province.
